Choosing leather armour and costume pieces
Chest armour and breastplates give the most visual impact for stage, cosplay and photos. Bracers and leg guards are the easiest pieces to add to an existing costume and layer well over a gambeson. Gladiator kilts often come with matching bracers if you want a coordinated set; check the product page for what is included.
Fit and adjustment
Armour is worn over clothing or a gambeson, so measure over what you plan to wear underneath. Most pieces adjust with side lacers and buckles for a range of sizes. Choose your size from the drop-down at checkout; we email an order confirmation with the measurements for that size and you can reply for an adjustment.
Care
Wipe down after an event, let it dry away from heat, and condition the leather a few times a year. Store chest armour on a stand or stuffed with paper so it keeps its shape between events.
Common questions
Is this safe for contact LARP? Leather armour offers real padding against blunt boffer weapons. Check your event’s rules for what counts as approved armour.
How heavy is a leather breastplate? Much lighter than steel and it moves with you, so most people can wear one all day without discomfort.
