Leather Bags
Full-grain leather bags for work and travel: laptop briefcases, backpacks, messenger bags, totes, folios and weekend duffles. Every leather bag here is made from naturally milled cowhide with rust-proof hardware and a cotton twill lining.
Leather and build
Full-grain naturally milled cowhide, a soft matte hide that develops a patina with use
Cotton twill lining and reinforced bases, several with metal feet
Chrome-finished, rust-proof hardware and two-way zips with leather pullers
Padded laptop sections sized 13 to 17 inches depending on the bag
Choosing a leather bag by carry style
Briefcase for a structured, formal carry, with a trolley strap for travel
Backpack for weight across both shoulders on a commute
Messenger for quick side access without opening the whole bag
Tote for an open, lighter everyday bag
Duffle for a weekend or the gym
Matching a leather bag to your laptop
Check the padded compartment size against your laptop’s actual width and depth, not just the screen size, especially on 15 and 16 inch machines where cases and sleeves add bulk. If you carry a laptop plus a tablet and files daily, a briefcase or backpack with a dedicated sleeve protects better than a tote.
Care
Wipe a leather bag with a soft dry cloth, keep it away from prolonged rain and heat, and condition it two or three times a year. Stuff it when storing so it holds its shape rather than creasing at the base.
Common questions
Is full-grain better than top-grain? Full-grain keeps the natural surface of the hide, so it is stronger and ages better, though it shows marks more readily at first.
Does the leather need breaking in? A little. It softens and the bag relaxes into shape over the first few weeks of use.
