Women’s Leather Chaps
Women’s leather chaps are open-seat over-trousers worn on top of jeans for motorcycle riding. They shield the legs from wind, road debris and cold, and add abrasion protection in a fall. The cut is shaped for a narrower waist and fuller hip than the men’s version.
Leather choices
Cowhide and naked cowhide are the riding standard, roughly 1.1 to 1.4 mm, tough and long lasting.
Buffalo is slightly softer with a pebbled grain, a good balance of comfort and protection.
Lambskin is thin and supple, cut close like trousers, better for fashion wear than long rides.
Styles
Side lace or back lace for adjusting the fit through the hip and thigh
Built-in belt or beltless so you can wear your own
Fringe and stud detailing for a show pair
Assless or buttless fashion chaps, open front and back, worn as a statement piece
Zip and snap leg closures from the ankle so they clear boots
Fit and sizing
Chaps are worn over jeans, so measure over the trousers you will ride in. Choose your size from the drop-down at checkout. We email an order confirmation listing the waist and inseam for that size so you can check it, and if you need an adjustment or a size that is not listed, reply and we build to your measurements.
Care
Wipe down after a wet ride, dry away from direct heat, and condition the leather two or three times a year. Take out any removable liner before washing it.
Common questions
Do women’s chaps fit differently from men’s? Yes. Ours are shaped for a smaller waist relative to the hip. If you are between sizes, go by your hip measurement.
What do you wear under them? Jeans or trousers, always. The seat is open.
Can I wear them off the bike? The fashion pairs, yes. The heavy cowhide riding pairs are stiff for everyday wear.
